| Service, Repair and Recovery |
Housed at our main site is not only our production facility but also
our purpose-built service and repair workshop which with our fully trained staff,
can handle all types of mechanical repair to all types of horseboxes and
horse trailers. Included within this workshop are two fully equipped bays with inspection pits, brake rollers and a headlight beam tester which enable us to effectively prepare over 100 horseboxes a year for the annual MOT test for our current customers.
As well as annual MOT's this workshop and its staff carry out periodic inspection
checks as well as major overhauls of running gear along with servicing and repair to the full range of chassis types used therefore giving us an inherent insight into all types of horseboxes and their
individual faults saving you time and money on costly diagnosis time.
With the advent of on-board computers within modern horseboxes controlling thier engine performance and running gear it became vital to possess the relevent equipment to correctly diagnose complicated electrical faults. It was for this reason that THORPE
HORSEBOXES invested in the equipment to carry out this work allowing us to work on any of the chassis used for horsebox manufacture.
If you are unfortunate to breakdown we also offer a 24-hour road side assistance and recovery service allowing you a quick response from a company that understands the needs of a horsebox owner who has horses on board and has broken down miles from home. Whilst we offer our own assistance and recovery service we do strongly recommend that any horsebox operator obtains a recovery and assistance scheme available through most insurance companies which will offer the same level of understanding of you and your horses needs but is on a national level. This service can cost upto £200 per year but just 1 breakdown or recovery per year could very often re-coup this cost.
